RDM Free 1.1.3.0 does not start

I do not know what type of data source you are using, but if you rename the RemoteDesktopManagerFree.cfg to something else, and launch the application, it will create a new one with default values.

If you were on the default SQLite, it will recreate that connection as well, so if the db is the culprit, you will experience the same symptoms.

In that case you could also rename the connections.db file to something else, just to see if the app can launch

I finally found the RemoteDesktopManagerFree.cfg file that you mentioned, I did a rename of it and nothing happened. no new file was created. I will reboot the computer and see if that makes a difference. (tonight)

Is there a way to do a full reinstall of the software and tell it to create a new DB? just in case that the one that I'm using is corrupted.

Could you try to install it in C:\RDMFree instead of program files?

You could also try to unzip it instead of using the installer.

I did as requested, it installed and when I ran the prog it created the Devolutions folder and 2 others inside:
- RemoteDesktopManager
- RemoteDesktopManagerFree

There is no log file inside either of them. I will do a restart and see if that makes a difference

no luck.

Just to keep other people informed, there is another version of DevExpress already installed on his computer and its causing a conflict. We are working on a resolution.

I sort of got it working.
- Uninstall of all the RDM version
- REBOOT
- Install RDMFree 1.1.1.0 (other newer versions would not run, no matter what I did)
- Open RDMFree (it opens and configures)
- Important step: make sure that QUICK CONNECT is set to NOT TO OPEN ON AN ENBEDDED SESSION

I was able to get it to run and connect to RDP and VNC sessions without crashing, if I ran the program without the last step and try to do a quick connect without the specified configuration, it would then crash and would never run ever again.

I will let you guys know what happens.

I unzipped the contents of the file, and copy them on top of my existing version (1.1.1.0).

Now when I run RDMFree I get the new version number. It seems that it works.

Does that means that I should use the ZIP file to do the updates to new versions?

Just make sure to delete the previous download since it does not contains the patch.

That one did work (I unzipped the file on top of the RDMFree that I had installed)
