Please feel free to redirect me to any posts/threads that these belong in (especially if answers exist), but I have a few questions:
1) We're using macros to input passwords into NetScaler environments that require RSA. We've noticed that, if the password has a special character, it does not copy over into the password field, correctly, when the macro runs. It seems that when the passwords are encrypted, the special characters are being missed or garbled. How do we resolve this? So far, we have been entering the passwords into the repository as (password) to skip the encryption, but then the parentheses paste into the field.
2) We connect to a number of environments that use shared credentials. Is there a feature available that would either (1) show only connections that are not currently in use or (2) allow someone to lock a connection for their use until they release it?
3) If we table our sessions and credentials on a server, is there a way that the application can create a local, fail-over repository that would allow an end-user to continue to use those sessions even when the server is not available?
4) Is GoToMyPC something that can be supported by RDM in the future?
5) What sorts of security auditing tools are available?
Thank you!
Hi,
#1 I will need some real examples to test it. Could you provide them in private email?
#2 You can use the Lock status for that. Have you tried it?
#3 You can enable the offline mode with RDMS and SQL Server data source.
#4 Do you know if we can invoke a command line or an API?
#5 I'm not sure to understand. Could you give me more details?
David Hervieux
David,
1) I will email you with the specifics regarding the password troubles we have been having.
2) I didn't see that before. I assume this means that if I lock a session, other users would not be able to launch that session.
3) Noted. We will test this and make sure that we reach out with any questions.
4) It seems as though GoToMyPC offers an API and a command-line based provisioning tool, but that is all the information that I have, at this time.
5) I will include details pertaining to the audits we are subject to in my email regarding the password encryption.
Hi,
Can you create a command line session and make it work with gotomypc?
