Citrix Embedded

avatar

Hi,

I have managed to add a Citrix site as a web URL, this works automatically logging me in, but does not embed the citrix sessions when I open them, they open in their own window.

I really want to get the embedded feature to work as I need to connect to multiple desktops at the same time.

I tried adding the downloaded launch.ica to RDM which worked initially, but once I log off and log back on to the citrix session it no longer works. It appears the launch.ica changes each time I logon.

Opening the launch.ica in notepad I can see the Address, LaunchReference, LogonTicket and Sessionsharingkey all change each time I log off and back on again.

Is there any way I can get this to work?

Does it download and open another application when you open them? Is it possible that it execute the Citrix native application and it's not longer a web page?

Yes that is what happens when I use it via the web url in a browser or via RDM. It downloads a launch.ica and opens it with the Citrix client.

I would prefer not to use the Web URL at all if there is any way?

Hi,
Unfortunately I don't think we have a solution. I will try to think about it.

Sorry to not be more useful

I have related issue. Actually I have the same issue as above, but ICA files work fine to embed. At least they used to.

Now I launch them and it says that embedded ICA only works in the x86 version of RDM. However I see no way to download a different x86 client. I've previously launched ICA file through RDM on an Windows 7 x64 system. So I assume its possible. Maybe this only worked when I was evaluating the free-version?

Is there a way to get the full version in 32-bit?

Hi,
RDM 32bit is included in the same download. You will find remotedesktopmanager64.exe and remotedesktopmanager.exe in the installation folder. Remotedesktopmanager.exe is the 32 bit version.

The free edition only supports 32 bit and this could explain why it was working before.
