Hi!
Post your question regarding the German translation here!
How to translate the titles Dr., Mr., Mrs., Miss. and Ms. in BusinessResources.resx?
Dr., Herr, Frau and ...?
I'll just leave the Engligh ones...
Dr. = Dr.
Mr. = Herr
Mrs. = Frau
Ms. = Frau
Miss. = Fräulein (outdated) / Frau (new)
best regards
Tobias
Yes but then the Dropdown (if it is one?) would look like:
Dr.
Herr
Frau
Frau
Frau
then the developer must check on duplicated entries. (I hope they do)
I would translate the english entries and wait for the release and open then a bugfix ;-)
best regards
Tobias
Is it OK to translate "Session Script Tools" as just "Sitzungs-Scripts" (leaving out the tools)?
imo "Sitzungs-Script-Tools" is too much dashes :)
And in German the normal way is to write words together, so the orthographically correct way would be Sitzungsskriptwerkzeuge, but I'm not a friend of that. I like to keep some English words intact as they sound stupid in German.
Any thoughts?
Hi,
Session Script Tools with be changed in the next version for Macro/Script/Tools
David Hervieux
On a lot of occasions in the MsgResources.resx there are messages in the form of:
"Unable to X the Y"
Unable to connect to the VPN
Unable to delete the file
Unable to find the template
etc.
there are lots of them. All of which you typically don't want to read :)
And it's translated like:
"Es ist nicht möglich Y zu X"
("It is not possible to X the Y")
but imo better would be
"Y konnte nicht X werden."
("The Y could not be X")
I changed a lot of these occasions until I realized that there are still so many left, and I would propably spend hours with this.
Sorry to leave you with unfinished work but that's too much for voluntary work :/

In the Logs panel in the filter section there's a drop down with "Original time", "Local time for this machine", "UTC time"
I suppose "Original time" means the local time on the session client?
Maybe write "Local time for session client" or so?
Hi,
Your suggestion is interesting but what do you think of "Original local time"?
David Hervieux
well it's not necessarily local.. I don't know I'd say "client time", "local time" and "UTC"
I like Client time

Changed for the version 7.9.2

What's the "Open shortcut session silent" in advanced options about?
also what's "Force Non-destructive backspace"?
edited by alphanimal on 10/6/2012
Open shortcut session silent: it's used to disable the ShowMessage when you open a session from a desktop shortcut. All the console messages are redirected in a message dialog
The other is used in SSH/Telnet to treat incoming destructive backspace characters (7F) as non-destructive backspace characters (08)

In, UIResources.resx, where's lblDesktop, lblDesktopProtocol located?
I think those need a fix
Hi,
This is used in the VMwareView add-on. In the configuration dialog.
David Hervieux
where's lblTo = "To"
It either means something like a recipient ("Mail To") or a region ("From ... To").
In German it's either "an" or "bis"
I noticed it's used in the Port Generator boundaries, where it should be translated "bis", but I don't want to break other uses...
Hi,
We use the lblTo for the boundaries. We will create another label if it's for a mail to
David Hervieux

Hi,
I have verified and the translation is missing. I will make sure to add it for the next version.
David Hervieux
Thanks ;)
Hello,
this string (Always on top) is correctly translated - but is still empty after deployment

Could you post your RDM version number? I suspect that a label was renamed.

I`m on the latest stable - 11.5.4.0
Hello,
just for info - in version 11.6.0.0 the string is all right again.

Hello,
found a translation issue - the same string is used twice - one time in the datasource settings (this translations is ok) and another one in the global otions in the tree view section (this entry is not correct) - seems that the second "&" is false formatted.. If i translate it in the localizer with only one "&" the character is in the data source setting gone.
Attached the screenshots for better understanding :)
Thanks!

The double ampersand (&&) in the translation is correct. Windows uses ampersand for the shortcut indicator. So for example &Copy will result in Copy when in a UI element that allows shortcuts. The issues here since we use both contexts, with & without shortcut capable control. I've fixed it to convert "&&" to "&" before assigning it to the System Options check box list.
All will be good in the next release.

Hello,

Hi,
I've found that we use a different component for the button and the automatic translation is not applied. I will fix this soon.

Hello,
Sorry about the delay. A lot of these should become translatable in RDM 12. In certain cases they will already be translated but in other cases there will need to be new ones.

Hubert Mireault
Hello David,
Hello Hubert,
any news regarding the button issue?
I found some more - in the meanwhile i forgot some, but this is one that i found now - for the marked names the translation doesn`t work..
btw - do you think it would be possible to add the passwort generator alphabet to translation able? Would be a nice option - but very very low prio :)
Thanks!

Thank you. We will check this. This would be cool to add the password generator translation able.

David Hervieux
Mr Destens,
The form for "Server Roles" has been fixed and should now be using the translations.
The password generator now has the possibility to translate the phonetics as previously asked.
The customization menu has also had its caption fixed and should be translated.
When you right click the grid in the Dashboard of a group entry you can now also see the translation of the menu that appears (the one with the column chooser)
These changes should be available in the next beta of RDM.
Regards,
Michaël Beaudin
Hello!
Many thanks for your work! Will check it on the next beta.
If i found some more, I give you feedback again.
Thanks! :)
