RDM Hangs after RDP Session Closes

RDM Hangs after RDP Session Closes

avatar

I'm running version 10.1.3.0.

At random, RDM will hang when I either log off or disconnect from an RDP session. It seems to happen more frequently when it is the only (or last) session that is open in the application.

I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting with the application but I know it is happening to not only myself, but my other co-workers that run the application. Any thoughts?

Ninja Edit:
To note, by hang i mean the application goes Not Responding and you have to close and re-open it.

Alright I took a look at that blog and made the UDP registry change. As for the Plug-in method that was discussed, I have everything set to default. I then went to File -> Default Settings -> Default Session Settings. From there I went into Microsoft Remote Desktop (RDP), went to the experience tab and set Load plug-ins in embedded mode to False and saved my changes.

Was that the proper way to implement the plug-in fix piece?

It looks like the proper way.

OK, thanks David. I'll keep an eye on it and report back if I run into any further issues.

Hey guys, after the latest update to Remote Desktop Manager 10.1.4.0 this issue came back up even though the other fixes are applied. The issue is definitely worse than it was before this time around because it happens almost every time I leave an RDP session whether it be log off or reboot.

Is it a direct connection or used with a VPN?

David, it's a direct connection to each server across a flat subnet so no extra routing concerns either.

I'm upgrading to 10.1.7.0 considering the issues i'm seeing with 10.1.4.0. For some reason the RDM client doesn't detect the latest version available on the site, the latest it can see is the 10.1.4.0 when it runs a check for latest available.

We don't always activate the auto update for the minor updates. We release a new version every week and most of our users don't like to be notified too often.
