When I am working in an RDP session using RD Gateway, the session will hang and the CPU usage spike after leaving it idle for a while.
If I continue to work, everything is fine.
I can close the session from RDM, and the CPU will drop back down to normal usage, and I can open the session up again and it works fine until next time it goes "idle".
Hi,
Do you use the latest version?
David Hervieux
v1.1.9.0
Hi,
Could you confirm in the setting if the RDP Sandboxing is enabled?
David Hervieux
Hi,
We are trying now to reproduce it. Do you use anything like clipboard, drives, smartcard or sound?
David Hervieux
Hi,
I have talked to Marc André for FreeRDP and he might have an idea. He will try to work on it this week.
David Hervieux
Sorry about the delay, since it's not a problem when I'm inside the office (no RD Gateway in use), I had to wait until I got home.
Sandboxing was enabled, but trying it disabled didn't change behavior, it still hangs.
I'm only enabling Clipboard. Hard drives is checked, but the 2 redirect (Hard drives and Home folder) are not.
I hope Marc finds the solution. If you need more info, let me know.
/Jesper
Update: When disabling Sandboxing, it made all of RDM crash, not just the session... I guess that's what Sandboxing means, so no biggie, I'm enabling Sandboxing again... :-)
/Jesper
Exactly that's the purpose of the sandboxing.
David Hervieux
Hi,
Marc André is still investigating and he hopes to find a solution soon. It seems to be complex.
David Hervieux
Hi,
You should have a fix in the next update.
David Hervieux
Fantastic!!!
Hi Jesper,
Release 1.1.11.0 includes a fix related to server timeout issue while using a gateway.
Let us know if you are still experiencing problems with this release.
Jonathan Lafontaine
Just a last update from me: The hangs no longer happen, so 1.1.11.0 is good on this point. I opened a separate ticket on the sudden disconnects that happens with RD Gateway in use, so I will monitor that one for a resolution.
/Jesper
Hi,
Marc André has made a fix to handle nicely the gateway timeout . However it seems that mstsc does not trigger this timeout like FreeRDP and he working on it.
I hope we will have a fix soon.
David Hervieux
Was this in 1.1.12.0?
No this is not fixed yet. We can reproduce it now but it's not a trivial issue. Don't worry it one of our high priority.
David Hervieux
Hi,
The guys are currently working on a re-implementing a large part of the Gateway to fix this issue. I will take us few weeks before making it available.
David Hervieux
Good to hear that you found it, sorry to hear that it's a tough nut.
Hi,
We just a released a new version that contain a major rework of the Gateway.
it should fix your issues.
Do you mind trying it? http://mac.remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/Download
Thank you
Benoît Sansregret
I will test it over the weekend, maybe tonight, as I have been in the office all week with no need to go through the RD Gateway.
