Intel AMT KVM fails to connect

Intel AMT KVM fails to connect

avatar

Hi, I am trying to use the Intel AMT KVM functionality.
When I attempt to connect, the connection fails.

If I use Real VNC Viewer Plus, the KVM connects fine.
But, in VNC, I need to set the encryption to none, not TLS.

I do not see any options in RDM to control the security or connection properties.
The RDM help file is totally incomplete for AMT, it simply contains a screenshot without any content.

How do I configure AMT KVM connection options?

Could you please send or post the error message you are getting? If it's a silent error take a look at [Help --> View Application Log...]

I've tried setting up an RDP session and a KVM session. Both work on my end (see screen shots of the configuration of each)

As for the help, you are correct the file it is a work in progress, it only has an image place holder.

Have you tried UltraVNC in external mode? Did it work? How did you configure it?

When I click connect, a dialog pops up in the top left corner, it sits there saying connecting, then it reports the connection failed.

I did not try UltraVNC.

In Real VNC Viewer Plus ( http://www.realvnc.com/products/viewerplus/ )
I have to set the encryption option to none (the machines are configured that way).
If I leave it at the default TLS setting, it also fails to connect.

The log does not contain any interesting information other than connection failed.

How do I configure the connection options for AMT KVM in RDM?

We don't currently expose any KVM options. The only option we set internally is the port number (5900)

Did you, by any chance, changed the default port number?

I did not change the port number.

I suspect it is because you do not expose the the encryption option.

Please let me set the connection options (not very useful without it).
Please don't show the popup dialog, or if you show it, don't show it top left corner of my screen, at least center it over your own window.

Hi,
I did a search and I can't find this setting for UltraVNC. It's not possible for now to embed RealVNC. Sorry about that.
