VNC Tab & Capslock not registering

VNC Tab & Capslock not registering

avatar

I have noticed that The TAB and CAPSLOCK keys don't work when using VNC to connect to a computer running TightVNC Service.

CTRL and ALT and NUMLOCK seem to work fine as intended.

I have also tested on a different machine and also a different VNC client with the same results.
I am using Version 1.0.8.0.
All machines are Windows 7.

Additionally, I am using Embedded VNC.
UltraVNC seems to work as intended.

SEEB,

I was able to reproduce and fix your issue concerning the Tab key.

I wasn't, however, able to find a use case where the Caps Lock key wasn't working properly.
Could you please explain the kind of issues you are experiencing with the Caps Lock key?

Hi,

Strangely enough the capslock seems to work again now. Not sure why it wasn't picking it up previously.
I also noticed in the latest build the VNC authentication prompt no longer has username greyed out.
Previously it was greyed out and only password input was allowed. Since there is no need for a username, can this be greyed out once again?

Two additional bugs I have also noticed:

1. Clicking "Send Ctrl+Alt+Del" doesn't work unless you click it twice. To test this, on the logon screen I would click it once, wait a few seconds, then click it again and then it would work.
I then pressed escape, and then tried again with the same result. Not sure why it registers fine on the second try.

2. Copy, Cut, Paste keyboard shortcuts also do not register. i.e. CTRL+C, CTRL+V. I have tested on vncviewer(UltraVNC) as a client and it works as intended but RemoteDesktopManager doesn't register these shortcuts when pressed.
Also is there any way to tap into DFmirage driver? Located here http://www.demoforge.com/dfmirage.htm
It greatly improves VNC response and refreshrate with supported client viewers.

Hi,
Jonathan has made the fixes for those issues. It should be updated soon.
