Just installed RDM Free 1.0.8.0
How do I get my old 9.2.4 XML connections into the new version?
Tried copying over the XML file, but it just complains about no database password.
Both the old and new are no install binary files
Hi imboguss,
You can create a new XML data source in File -> Data Sources and indicate the path of your XML file in the filename box.
You can also do a data migration from your old data source to a new one (SQLite as example)

If I do the File -> Data Sources, that is where I get the database login dialog that wants a password.
When I try to export from 9.2.4, "Include credentials" is greyed out
Hi,
Is this the screen that you are seeing?

masterkey.jpg
No, I get this:

Hi,
This means that you were using a master key to encrypt you database in the version 9.X. Were you using SQlite or an Xml data source? I'm asking this question because the login dialog you get is from SQLite but in the thread title you talk about Xml.
David Hervieux
In 9.x I was using an XML data source. When I try to open that XML file in 1.0.8.0, I get the login dialog.
Could you open the xml file and verify if the content is in plain text? You could use notepad.exe for that.
David Hervieux
It is in plain text.
Could you post a print screen of the data source configuration?
David Hervieux
OK, I figured it out.
I was just editing the "Database" field instead of clicking on "Add a new data source"
Once I did that & selected XML, everything works fine
Stupid users..........
@imboguss - Thank you for the update. We will look at making this workflow easier. We already have an automatic migration from Standard to Free when using the .msi installer but nothing when using the .zip (no installer). We will discuss to see what we can do to make more straight forward.
