Default Type for SQLServerManagementStudio Add-on

Default Type for SQLServerManagementStudio Add-on

Hey guys, great product (RDM Enterprise 10.0.4.0) we just got it a few weeks ago and are still trying to get as much configured as possible. We have a lot of MS SQL databases in our environment and I was trying to use the SSMS Add-on to make sub-connections of the RDP Sessions for these Databases. OK so I was able to figure out how to feed the add-on my Domain admin credentials, while signed in as my regular domain user account. The problem I'm having is that the connection to the SQL Database is basically defaulting to running a query on the Master Database. If I just use SSMS directly there is a field to configure the Server type, which defaults to Database engine. I'm not sure how to make this a default setting within the RDM Add-on. I enter the server/instance field with the $PARENT_HOST$ variable and do not specify a specific database in the database field. I also thought that the SSMS or the Database itself rather has a default behavior that can be configured for my login - I'm the one who installed the Database - so my AD domain account is in the Builtin Administrators group. I didn't see any default choices for the Database Engine option.

Any help you guys can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,
I'm not sure to understand what you want to do. From what I know the SSMS command line is very limited.
