Hi,
I use Remote Desktop Manager since long and I am fully happy with it. I work on a laptop and use virtual desktop (virtual screens) with the tool : VirtuaWin. I created 2 virtual desktops, one for my main work and another one for my RDP sessions.
It's easy I told VirtuaWin to move all the windows with "TscShellContainerClass" as class name to be moved to the virtual desktop N°2.
It was working pretty well, but since I upgraded Remote Desktop Manager 10.0.4.0 (from 9.xxx) it doesnt work well anymore.
The RDP sessions aren't moved anymore to the virtual desktop N°2 but exists on both virtual destops.
I checked the class nae of the windows and it's still "TscShellContainerClass".
Does someone have any clues on this ?
Thank you.
Frédéric Piard.
Hi,
Do you open the RDP connection in external mode? Does it work if you use mstsc?
David Hervieux
Hi,
I use RDP connection in external mode on primary display. Maybe I have to choose another display ?
I didn't tried any of other options, I chose RDM to have a convenient way to manage my RDP connections and to keep the password in an encrypted file for security reasons. I never touched or tried the many other options.
And yes, this is strange, I have the same problem with MSTSC. But this problem occured 2 days ago, when I rebooted my laptop. When RDM started it offered me to upgrade my 9.x version to this 10.0.4.0
Even if I manage to move the RDP window on my second virtual screen, the menu bar (image attached) is displayed on both screens.
Thanks for your help and time.

RDP Menu Bar.jpg
Hi,
Could it be related to a Windows update and now you have RDP 8?
David Hervieux
Maybe, my problem occured after a reboot of my laptop and an update of RDM.
In RDM it is said : Remote Desktop: 6.3.9600.16384
I installed RDM 9.2.0 and the wrong behavior is still present.
So, you you think it is a change in Windows and not in RDM that gives me this problem?
Do you know the Windows class name of the menu bar, the one I sent here ? So I could tell VirtuaWin to move it to the desktop N°2.
Thank you.

You can download the version 9 zip and unzip it in a folder like C:\RDM. It will work side by side as long as you don't install it in program files.

Hi, as I said, I altready tested RDM 9.2.0. I uninstalled RDM 10.0.4.0 and installed RDM 9.2.0. Unfortunatly, the wrong behavior is still present. So maybe the problem is in Windows and some upgrade.
I installed back RDM 10.0.4.0.
Do you know the Windows class name of the menu bar, the one I sent here ? So I could tell VirtuaWin to move it to the desktop N°2.
Thank you for your help.

I don't know the class name. Perhaps someone else has the answer.
