I am trying to get inherited credentials to work. I find it a little confusing because there seem to be multiple settings and I am not sure what takes precedence.
At the folder level Properties / General I have specified Credentials as My personal credentials and provided my domain account information. I have also entered the same information on the folder Properties / Tools page.
I have set each RDP session under the folder so that the Properties / General page shows Credentials as Inherited and the Properties / Tools page shows Use default credentials.
Can someone kindly guide me or point me to instructions?
Thanks,
Ken
The documentation is on:
http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/settings_general_credentials.htm?zoom_highlightsub=inherited
http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/settings_tools_overview.htm?zoom_highlightsub=tools
and as a bonus

In essence, the credentials in the General tab are for the remoting technology itself, and the one in the tools tab is for when you run a Macro/Script/Tool against the host defined in the session. (all of the grey buttons in the dashboard: Event viewer, service manager, even your own powershell script)
From what I understand, you have set the credentials on the parent folder, and set the children to use inherited credentials, so that should work already.
What version are you running?
Maybe you could PM me a few screenshots?
Maurice
We are running 10.0.4.0 64 bit RDM Enterprise Edition.
I am not sure what screenshots would be helpful; the settings are as I described and it sounds like that should do what I need. Is there a log that I should check?
Thanks,
Ken
If you are using an advanced data source, you should see that the credential has been used by the session in View - View Usage Log
If you are on a simple data source, you could try as described on http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_variables.htm
This will show you the username being used if you set the credentials to inherited and save the session under the folder.

Thanks! I reset all the folder settings and set it up again; it is now working. Not sure what is different but grateful to have it working.
