Multi User / Open Server Connections

Multi User / Open Server Connections

avatar

Hi

I'm looking for solutions in a multi user environment to check if someone already connected to a server.
If someone is connected to a server this icon (have a look at the attachment) should appear on all RDM sessions.

It was hard to search for this topic in the forum maybe there is a easy solutions for this ;)

Thank you

Hi,
It's possible with an SQL Server data source. Just take a look at the log to see the live users.

I have to come back to this topic.

I've used RDM over the past 2 years and tried a MSSQL source for the group functionalities for the first time today.

But as imation mentioned it would be extremely helpful, having the connection status directly shown in the main tree.

Our team is currently using several different tools and by this we often connect to a server someone is already working on. RDM would be a possibility for us but having to first check the log isn't a good solution I think.

It would be helpful having a different type of symbol to indicate if someone is already connected to a server...if I'm interested in details I still can check the user in the logs but most of the time I just want to see if someone has already logged in.

Take a look at the following picture, here I can clearly see someone is connected to DC6 already, indicated by a red connection icon...that would be a neat addition.

cheers,
Michael

Hi,
This is something that we want to add eventually. The main issue is the performance since we will have to update the list and the database often. We have few strategy in mind to make this possible.

This feature has been on our todo list or while but we hope to make it happen soon.
