After updating to 10.0.4.0 when I connect multiple Embedded (tabbed) RDP sessions I am having disconnects. Every time I swap from RDP session to RDP session it disconnects. It then reconnections the session automatically, but of course all of my application windows within that session have been resized.
Any suggestions?
I think that it’s our new feature that uses a new RDP 8 setting for a quick reconnect to perform a resize.
The setting is called Screen Sizing mode. Could you try with none to see if it resolves the issue?
The easiest way is to set all sessions to screen sizing mode = default, then go in File -> Options -> Types -> RDP and set the screen sizing mode to none

Yep, that was it! Thank goodness, that was really obnoxious. I really appreciate the quick response.
Hi,
I have the same issue and see the resolution that is reported to have solved the proble, but the suggested change isn't being retained in the Tools / Options screen.
Any advice on how to have the change be saved ?
Thanks, NHEvs
Hi NHEvs,
What version of RDM are you running ?
Best regards,

Ahh, I hadn't closed the application after making the change to the RDP default. I can report the same problem as NHEvs. While making the change solves my problem, when I relaunch the application the change reverts back to "Auto Scale Resolution". I am running 10.0.4.0
I can reproduce the issue.
When the setting is set to none, it reverts back to "auto scale resolution". I will open a bug
Maybe you could try with the "server" value in the mean time
Maurice
While I can verify the "Server" setting sticks, it's more obnoxious than setting "none" each morning when I launch the application. I'll just do that until there is a fix, thanks for the help.
My version is 10.0.4.0 and I see a subsequent note that the issue has been re-created and logged, great.
In the meantime, when I change these settings I'm loosing scaling in RDP.
I'm connecting from a Surface Pro 3 set to 1920 x 1080, with an RDP setting of 1024 x 768.
I was getting scaling correctly after the upgrade, but with the bug of constant disconnections.
The scaling is important, as from a tablet with high resolution, server screens are unreadable at the tablet resolution.
Any thoughts on how I should set the correct parameters.
Thanks.
Hello,
The Reconnect dialog is build-in the RDP ActiveX. As described in our blog on the subject that you can find here http://blog.devolutions.net/2014/10/embedded-sessions-reconnecting-its-a-new-feature-of-the-rdp-activex.html, its not a connection that was dropped, we just making use of a new API. Sadly it displays the reconnect dialog, but unless there are network issues, it disappears right after.
If we want to make use of that new feature, we have to experience that dialog being displayed. If it does not disappear after a moment, then we can interpret it as a problem. I have it turned on, even during the demos I provide, and it just is something that I became used to.

On http://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/Download#beta you will find 10.0.7 that fixes the "none" value not being persisted in the options.

Hi
A follow up issue on this stub.
In 10.0.4 / Windows 8.1 / SurfacePro 3, changing the above setting to None improves usability, with single Reconnecting messages, albeit it's not really reconnecting. But only if you connect to a single server at any one time.
If there are multiple concurrent RDP sessions open to different servers, then software reverts to not Reconnecting correctly and failing to do so.
You have to terminate the connection and reconnect.
That's obviously frustrating.
Can you review that please.
Thanks.
NHEvs
A follow up to my previous post, just insalled 10.0.12.0 and have the same problem.
Connect to one RDP session in full screen.
Revert to your desktop.
Connect to another RDP session in full screen.
Revert to your desktop.
Select either RDP session and go back to a Full Screen connection.
Won't connect.
End session.
Reconnect.
Just can't swtich correctly between Full Screen when multiple RDP sessions open.
NHEvs.
Hello,
I have version 10.0.4.0 installed on my computer running Windows 8.1 and I also get the message which says "disconnected" whenever I switch between different remote desktops which I have added to the Remote Desktop Manager application. I really don't mind the message which says disconnected as I switch between servers, but what I really find annoying is that it resizes some of the applications as I move from one server to another. It really becomes counterproductive to be having to resize applications every time that you connect to a server.
I would hope to see if perhaps this is something that might be addressed at a later version.
Thank you,
Carlos
