Hi all,
I just import RDP file for Collection created by RDS 2012 R2 design. There is defined Load Balancer for example:
tsv://MS Terminal Services Plugin.1.Admin_Desktops
There was a radical change between broker functionality in RDS 2008 and RDS 2012. With RDM I can't use published collections under RDS 2012.
The change:
RDS 2008 -> connection to the DNS name for "farm"
RDS 2012 -> connection to the broker server with load balancer description defined in RDP file
In RDM I get error (only when I try to run in embedded mode):
Your computer can't connect to the remote computer on the remote computer that you want to connect to. Contact your network administrator for assistance.
Thru MSTSC client I am able to connect.
Hi,
Does it work with the other microsoft tool: RDCMan?
David Hervieux
actualy there is no option to import settings from rpd file and build in support for windows 2012 RDS farm.
As I wrote, there has been dramatically changed setup. In the past (w2k8) you have been connecting to the DNS of the farm, in the wk12 you are connecting directly to the broker server, where is specified to which collection of published apps or desktops you wnat to be routed. Here is syntax of the new RDP file to the collection "Admin Desktops"

this row is completly new and that's the reason as well why most of the Thin Client are not compatible with Windows 2012 RDS
We have a field Load balance info in the Advanced RDP settings. Have you tried to edit it with this value?
David Hervieux
Yes, I did. I get the message with "embedded windows": Your computer can't connect to the remote computer on the remote computer that you want to connect to. Contact your network administrator for assistance.
With External windows it's call mstsc and then working fine.
Could you send me a working rdp file (you can change the server name) and I will do a compare with what we generate. Use the private message please.
David Hervieux
here it is. Servers names is replaced and in signature is aswell some typo
cpub-Admin_Desktops-Admin_Desktops-CmsRdsh.rdp
Hi,
I also need the RDM session exported. Sorry about that.
David Hervieux
Hello,
I am sorry for delay. Here is exported session from RDM.
BB Terminals.rdm
Hi guys,
I am sorry for all the trouble. Today I upgrade RDM and in new version is everything working. My mistake - and once again sorry.
Hi,
what version were you using before?
David Hervieux
I have used 9.2.6.0
Hi,
Has there been an update on this issue?
We have recently move over to RDS and I am having the same issue.
I can run this as external window and it work , but in embedded it just close with no error.
When I connect directly to one of my session hosts that work but I am losing the load balancing of the solution.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris
We have this exact same situation, but unfortunately unable to fix it yet.
We are now running version 12.0.8.0 64-bit, please advice?
Thanks in advance,
Roderick
We haven't find a way to support it embedded. RDCMan has the same problem. That must be use a setting not available in the ActiveX. Sorry about that.
