Export settings in 0.9.5.0

avatar

I am trying to export my configuration from 0.9.5.0 to import it into the version 10 trial, but I can't find the export feature. The online help (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?file_options_export_options.htm) says "Use File -> Options -> Export Options to control the options to export your application configuration.", but Under File -> Options, I have no "Export Options"

Could you post a print screen of what you see?

I don't see a way in this forum to insert a screenshot or upload a file, but here's a link https://www.anonimg.com/img/28551a33d05879c8e20e54b1e4c3b5a8.png

Ah I understand . The free edition does not have the export feature. You can copy the file %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopmanagerFree\remotedesktopmanagerfree.cfg to %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager

You will need to rename it to remotedesktopmanager.cfg.

I will enter a feature request to allow the import of the free edition settings.

Is there something else I need to do in addition to copying the cfg file? I am running this on a different computer than the one running the free edition and I copied only the cfg file to the %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager folder on the new computer. Now the application says
===============
Unable to sage the file: directory does not exist!
C:[path to my appdata]\Local\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManagerFree
OK
===============

I needed to copy the Connections.xml file and then edit the Data source to point to %AppData%\Local\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\Connections.xml

Now it appears to work

Hello,

When in the enterprise version, and you go in File > Options > Import Options, if you have the Free Edition installed, you will be able to import from it. You will have the option to copy the local databases to the new path too.

This change will be available in an upcoming release.
