MS-RDP when resize/reconnect, it goes 8bit colour

Hi guys,

I'm testing the new version of the free option to evaluate if it is any good before we decide to go enterprise but I've noticed a few annoyances I'm trying to sort out before. I like the function that if you resize the window it reconnects to the RDP session and gets a native size instead of up/down scaling, but the problem is every time it auto reconnect the colour scheme goes to 8bit or less even though my connection is set up for 16bit colour.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Also when the connection drops and is ties to reconnect automatically, not becuase of resizing it also come back always with 8bit colour.

Thanks!

Hi,
The auto reconnect is handled by RDP directly. Could you try to use our Reconnect ribbon button to see if the same thing happen? Could you also verify if you use the 16 bit color and not the 15bit? I remember a bug in RDP about that.

Actually it seems to be the case.

I Use W8.1 as my workstation and connecting to some 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 servers, weird this bug is still present. In 16bit colour it worked completely fine as you said.

Is there a way to mass change all RDP entries I have and enforce this change? I highlighted a few connection but noticed the edit is greyed out.

Thanks.

You can use the Batch edit I think. It's in the context menu.

I'm following this:

http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?edit_batch.htm

but there is no such option here:

AM I looking at the wrong place?

Do you use RDM Free or Enterprise? Batch edit is only in the enterprise edition

Ow that explains, I'm using the free edition, I'm slowly testing features and seeing if my company likes it, the 30 day trial would make me rush through it and as my company has always taken a long time to decide on things I'm sure it would expire before making a decision.

thanks for your assistance anyway, hopefully in a couple of months we will contact you guys going forward as I'm liking it a lot and also the support.

No problem. Just make sure to send us an email if you need more time to evaluate the Enterprise edition. We will send you another trial key.

In your case you could export the file and edit it with notepad.
