We run Remote Desktop Manager Enterprise and have upgraded to the 10.0 version. We have this installed on a Citrix server running Windows Server 2012 R2, so the app is shared by multiple people. We connect to a SQL Server 2012 backend. After the upgrade when some of the users open up RDM it only opens to a white screen and hangs. It will never connect and no menu item are available to click on. We deleted the offline.db, since this was causing a problem during the beta, in hopes to fix the issue. It opens one time and works. When the user opens it again the same issue occurs. Do you have any suggestion on how to make this work? We had no issues running 9.1.4.
Thanks,
Larry Boeck
Do you see anything in the logs? Do you know if each user has it's own offline file? Does RDM is installed in program files? It needs to be in program files when it's used on a Terminal Server or with Citrix.

The application log shows 126 entries like the following showing different version numbers.
9/5/2014 10:20 AM 9.9.1.0 - 32-bit Info Upgrading database for data source 'Local Data Source' with version 0
Each user does have there own offline file. We verified this with the previous issue. At this time we have to use the application with "Offline mode" and "Caching mode" disabled. I have not tried to enable to see if this has been resolved.
RDM is installed in the following path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Devolutions\Remote Desktop Manager". The default path during installation.
So when the cache is disable everything works fine?
David Hervieux
No, that only solved the problem when we tried version 9.1.4. With version 10.0.2.0 this new issue came up with the white screen and we only have 2 out of 8 users working. I have not tried to re-enable the cache yet.
Do you use RDM 32 bit or 64 bits?
David Hervieux
Hello,
Can you add a screenshot of your white screen? I suspect the connection to the DB fails and all of the panels are hidden in that case.

We use the 32 bit version since the 64 bit version does not perform as good. We just performed a test with the 64-bit version and are having the same issue.

Just to see if we can find the underlying error, could you switch to Classic UI?
David Hervieux
You could also try Reset Layout

How would we go about doing this? When we open RDM with the white screen we cannot click on any of the menu items. The only way to even close the application is from the task manager.
Could you try to rename remotedesktopmanager.cfg and start RDM with the default settings?
