As you are always on the lookout for great tools: We just tested www.batchpatch.com and are very happy with the functionality to Patch systems very easily. Projects (what and how to be patched) can be saved as a file, and than run via command line. Admin Guide: batchpatch.com/downloads/BatchPatch_Admin_Guide.pdf
Perhaps it's something worth looking at, for integrating into RDM as an addon.

Do you have any tips on how we could do an integration? Do you know if they have a command line or an ActiveX that we could invoke or script? For example if you could provide us a sample like an RDM cmd session.

I talked to them and they are very interested, but at the moment they do not have a command line interface. They have it on ther tasklist, but until than it seems we have to use it completly separate. When I hear again from them, I will post it in this topic. Thanks.
It could also be a powershell extension if it's easier for them
