RDM has implemented Hardware Remote Management such as HPs iLO. On the information tab I can define the webaddress of the Remote Management. But where can I define the credentials?
In most fiirms there is one userid and password for the Remote Management (iLO or IBM RSA, RSA II and IMM).
I think it will be a good idea, for hardware servers you can define the credentials for Remote Management as for normal connections (RDP).
Hi,
It's not built-in but you can easily create a sub connection (web browser type) and enter your credentials.

Hm, ok. But I don't understand completely. I have created a credential entry filled with user name and password. Next I have created a sub connection. in the login tab, the password is auto filled. But how can I autofill the user name?
Ah, ok I have found it.
There's a question. If I create a sub connection for Remote Management HP iLO. The Remote Management has a different name, which included the hostname of the OS and a suffix (example: Hostname is win-pc, the iLo interface is win-pc_ilo). How can I handle this with the defined variables?
Hi,
You can enter a custom field in the parent and use it the sub-connection. The custom variables are located in the tab Information, sub tab Other.
The parent variable would be $PARENT_CUSTOM_FIELD1$

Hi,
too bad credential linking to the ILO and "Home Page" fields is not integrated. this would be really usefull.
How do you these connections embedded?
For the workaround:
Is there a way to create sub-connections via Powershell? I could not find it.
Regards,
Peter
Hi,
It's not possible for now to create a sub-connection in PowerShell. I'm not sure if a template could not do the job. Have you tried that?
I will try to add the credentials management to iLo for the next version.
