Version 7.0 and German translation

Version 7.0 and German translation

Hi!

Some issues with 7.0 i noticed:

1. I have a RDP session (terminal server) with locally stored credentials. I changed my password and tried to edit the credentials in the session settings, but it always fails to log on (wrong password). I think it's not storing the password correctly and always tries to connect with the old password, but I can't confirm what's really going on.

2. Thanks for the German translation! It's very comfortable for some of us non-english speakers here :)
Some issues with the translation so far:

I'm not going to continue searching for mistakes as there seem to be pretty many.

It's always the confusion between adjectives, nouns and verbs it seems...
For example:
- "open" can be traslated as "offen" (to be open) and "öffnen" (to open)
- "test database" can be "Test-Datenbank" (a database for testing), or "Datenbank testen" (to test a database)

This seems to be confused a lot of times.

Another common mistake is the use of a personal pronoun with actions, such as:
- "Import session list" is translated as "Importieren Sie Session-Liste", but should be only "Session-Liste importieren"

"Sie" is a honorific (the French "vouz" I think, but I don't know French sadly), thus the text is telling me (personally) to import the session list. If you would translate that back, it would be something like "You, import session list!"
so, pretty much everywhere you can just flip noun and verb and remove the "Sie". Except for special occasions, like "Follow us" which is "Folgen Sie uns". it's an invitation to me personally to follow you, so it fits there.

I already offered to help you with translating - that's still holds! If you tell me how I can edit the locale strings (or provide me with the files) I'd be willing to correct them.

Thanks!
Daniel

Hi,
First of all, I have to apologize for the German translation. Most of it was done with an automated tool just to have starting point. I have included it in the version 7 but this is not the final version. I have two people working on it right now and I hope to improve it very quickly. I will create today a new forum topic about that and I will post all the translation. This way, maybe we will be able to update review them even quicker. It's very easy to update, you only need to replace one dll.

Is there something I can do on this?
I saw the German translation and things like "Ausfahrt" for the english "Exit" brings a smile on my face (Ausfahrt is used on traffic signs for the motorway exit).
I am German and could help if you like.

Hi,
the German translation in the current version comes from the automatic translation. This was only a basis for the real one. They are coming soon. I will let you know soon if I need more help. Thank you very much

Send me an email translation at devolutions.net and I will invite you on our new online translation platform. By the way the version 7.0.5.0 is already much better
