Using local credentials when using SQL data source

Using local credentials when using SQL data source

Is it possible to store credentials locally when using sql as a backend?

For example, 5 users need to access "server a" using their own domain credentials but the problem is that we don't want it automatically logging into the server as bob or sue but with their own credentials for all the configured sessions.

Also, we have a lot of servers, switches etc that we've imported from a single desktop install. Is it possible to set up a default entry for each user so if a user double clicks on a server it first attempts with their own credentials?

Ah found it, "Edit Entry (User Specific Settings") and using private vault.

Is there a global setting though? So if I click on a folder/group it applies that user specific credentials to all sub-folders, groups, servers etc?

EDIT: Batch edit..

Hello,

You have a few options, as per your description you are in a shop that manages the infrastructure of your own company in what seems like a single domain.

The most efficient in your case would be to set the sessions to use "My personal credentials", each user will be prompted to define their own upon first use and thats it!

You can use our batch edit tool (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/edit_batch.htm) to adjust multiple sessions at once.

If you have advanced requirements, users could store multiple credentials in their private vault, and using the "User Specific settings" on the public entries you can choose a credential from the private vault. Let me know if you need to follow that scenario.

Best regards,

oups, your second post appeared after I hit reply..

If you want to easily manage a hierarchy, you would set each session to use "inherited" credentials, then set the credentials to use on a parent folder, you have access to the private vault from there as well
