thinking out loud here... ;)
On connection to a server for the first time ask if you want to sync the properties like:
- IP
- OS
- Domain
- MAC
And then each connection sync in the background the meta data for the server (or give settings to sync once a period)

We have a Load from Inventory batch action but it's not exactly what you want. The problem is always how to achieve that without impacting the performance.

It's related to another idea that I had, give an external tool to do maintenance and update the central DB.
This should be to Enterprise deployments using a central DB and not local...
So the tool will sync info from the device (WMI, SNMP Etc.) check if the device (or web page) is accessible with the configured port (you have this info from the configuration of the device), could check for external documentation existence and so on.
That's exactly what we want to do in a future product. Something related to the asset management.
