Missing Object in Navigation Pane since Update

Missing Object in Navigation Pane since Update

avatar

Hello,

we've updated our RDPManager Enterprise from 7.6 to 9.2.10 and are very pleased with the new featuers and ui.
Only on all our client PCs (Windows 7, Windows 8, x86, x64) we miss the little symbol near to the folders to fold or unfold them.
The functionality is working, but there is no symbol.

Is this a bug or a setting to be set?

See attached screenshot.

Alexander

Hi,
Usually it should be there. It's here for me. Could you go in File->Options | User Interface and try to enable the Mordern UI to see if it makes a difference?

Hi David,

thanks for the quick answer.

That was the first thing we tried.
We've changed the ui back to 7.x and tried "Use modern ui" and without it.

No change at all.

Also we tried the Application in x64 and x86 but no difference.

Alexander

Could you send me a print screen of what you have? Do you use it on a Virtual Machine or in Terminal?

Hi David,

here you go.

Attached one Print-Screen of our navigation and one screenshot of the actual UI-Settings.

We use the application on our PCs and notebooks.
We already have a terminal-server but we've not updatet the client on that machine.

Alexander

Just for a test; could you try RDM beta since we have changed the UI?

Is there a way to get the beta client work with a 9.1 database?

Yes. You can go in File->Options | Advanced -> allow non-upgraded data source

Hi David,

i tried this today but with no Change in the Navigation ui.
The expand-Icon is still missing.

Could this be a Problem in the data-source?
Because we all have it after the upgrade and not only one Client.

Alex

I don't think it's in the data source but you could give it a try by creating another local data source.

Hi David,

as you expected, a local data source doesn't change the problem.
Is there another step i can try or another beta build?

Alex

Just for a test. Download the latest RDM binaries and unzip it in a new folder. RDM will create a default configuration and we will see if it's related to a config or not.

Ok,
Could you send me the two remotedesktopmanager.cfg files so I can do a compare.

The first one is in %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager and the other one is in the application folder of the new installation.

Hi everyone,

David found the solution.

There was a line in the remotedesktopmanager.cfg which was causing the problem.

"TreeViewItemHeight>16</TreeViewItemHeight"

After deleting this line everything went well.

Call closed. :-)
