SQL Server & High Availability with RDM
We are looking to setup a SQL cluster in our company and I have some queries regarding compatibility of your product. Could you assist by reviewing and answering the questions below.
1) Is this applications certified to work using SQL Server 2012?
2) Are there any known problems using this application with SQL Server 2012?
3) When is it planned to have a version that works using SQL Server 2012?
4) What compatibility level setting is required for this application to work?
5) What application version/upgrade level is required for this to work with SQL Server 2012?
6) Does the application have any specific requirements (e.g. service pack revision) of SQL Server 2012?
7) Do you support SQL Server Always On availability groups?
8) Do you support SQL Server clustering?
9) Do you support log shipping and database mirroring?
10) Does your application make use of MSDTC (Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator)?
11) Do you have any plans to support SQL Server 2014 and if so, when?
12) Is an application upgrade required to use 2012 or 2014 and if so, is there a cost to upgrade?
13) If your application is not supported or doesn't work in 2012 (or 2014), would running the application in 2008 compatibility mode on SQL Server 2012 be supported?

1) Is this applications certified to work using SQL Server 2012? RDM will work with any version of MS SQL Server. Including 2014 (I'm currently running 2014).

Requires the Enterprise version, the free version doesn't allow for MS SQL Server or MySQL connectivity

no, but keeping your MS SQL Server up-to-date is never a bad idea.

It has not been tested in house but we currently have a few clients that are running with Always On

Yes

Already supported

There is no cost difference.
13) If your application is not supported or doesn't work in 2012 (or 2014), would running the application in 2008 compatibility mode on SQL Server 2012 be supported?
We support all version of MS SQL Server starting with 2005 up to the latest (no SQL compact support)
RDM's database schema is simple and small. We don't require any "special" configuration or any other magic to make it work. We highly recommend you test your particular environment (using a trial license) prior to purchasing the software. We are available via the forum to answer any and all questions you might have.

Thanks Stefane. We have the enterprise edition already running on a single 2008 instance. We'll carry out testing prior to migrating the production database.
