Bad Computer

avatar

My support computer has ceased to be a computer, I think it believes it's a toaster now.
How can I move all of my configuration to another computer. I have full file access, but what are the files I need to move to make sure I have all of my connection information.
Thanks,
Bernie

Hi,

http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_howtoreinstall.htm describes where are the settings. What type of data source are you using?

Hmm, gone from bad to worse. I copied the cfg like it said and now I have an error of "Unable to create database! Count not find a part of the path "c:\Document and Settings\ ... \Connections.db".

I tried repair with the install program and uninstallation and neither one worked. I'm surprised the uninstall and reinstall did not clear the error. Why does the error stay after a complete uninstall?

That's for the data file. The default path for the data is the same as the config file, is there a db file in that folder?

I understand that you are running the app, how did you get windows running? Has that process changed you user profile?

The file - data sources dialog shows all data sources that are configured, what do you see in there?

The file path you mentioned here, does the folder exist?

Thanks

Isn't the data file what we need? My original question was how do I save all of my connection information. The Win 7 machine wants to put the data file in a different location. So how do I modify the config file for the new path information?

The file - data sources dialog shows all data sources that are configured, what do you see in there?

If there is a single data source, its details will appear in the controls above the grid. This will include the path to your data file. You can edit the data source to have it point to the data file you had preserved.
