I really love Remote Desktop Manager and it is one of a few "must have" apps for me.
I have a lot of my RDM sessions saved as shortcuts on my desktop.
This really saves me a lot of time. However, when I open a shortcut the RDM application also pops up on my desktop.
How can I launch a desktop shortcut and keep RDM minimized?
Also, it seems if I change the icon for an RDM session desktop shortcut it also changes the RDM icon.
For example, I have an RDM desktop shortcut that launches the application Remedy and logs me in.
If I change the icon for this desktop shortcut (to the Remedy Icon) it also changes the icon for RDM.
Can I change the desktop shortcut icon for just my shortcuts without changing the icon for RDM?
Thanks for such a great tool!
Hi,
Do you open your connection in embedded or external mode?
For the shortcut issue, I can't reproduce it. What OS do you use. Usually it's handled by Windows directly.

Thanks for the reply.
My connection is using external mode.
My OS is Windows 8.1
Does RDM is configured to open in minimized state by default?
David Hervieux
Yes, in General -> Application Start -> Startup Window State -> Minimized
Hi,
I have added a setting in File->Options | Advanced Settings
Force restore application with desktop shortcut
Just make sure to uncheck it. This will be in the next beta release.
