Hi,
Does RDM support using IPv6 addresses?
Cheers

Hi,
We are only a manager around existing technologies so it depends of the technology you use.

Er....ok.
I can use an IPv6 address in a standard MSTSC window, but this doesn't work if I add the IPv6 address to an existing session instead of the IPv4 address. Should it work or do I need to do something special for IPv6 in RDM?
Cheers

Have you tried in embedded mode or external mode for the RDP? What error do you get?
David Hervieux
I use embedded mode by default, so yes. I just get a blank screen when trying to use the IPv6 address as if the name/address doesn't exist, RDM then gives up trying to connect.
If I add the address to my local hosts file and create a fake name, I can then use this name in RDM successfully. It looks like RDM sees the IPv6 address as an invalid entry or something...

Could you just try external mode to confirm that it works. I will do some search for embedded mode.
David Hervieux
:)
Yep, it works in external mode!

I can't find anything on the ActiveX documentation. I will continue to look for an answer
