Computer-Object: Variables

Hi there,

when using $COMPUTER_NAME$ or $NAME$ in a "computer-group" the variable is not looked up in the current entry.

I have attached 2 screenshots to show the situation.

Hi,
It's by design because you are supposed to enter the computer name in the group and not the opposite

Hi,

i like to use variables to generate the fqdn to exactly define a computer-host. I already have the $DOMAIN_DOMAIN$ and don't want to give the (netbios)-name of a computer 2 times. I already set the name in the computer object exactly to the first part of the fqdn.

If this is no bug would you consider it a feature-request?
