Win7, RDM, VPNs close before MSTSC can connect

Hi,
RDM is very cool, but I am having an issue with is on Windows 7 Pro.


I have set up a VPN using both the Windows PPTP client and ShrewSoft's IPSEC client and can connect them manually through either their own interfaces or RDM's "Connect VPN" button. They even successfully come up before an MSTSC session, BUT they then almost immediately close as the MSTSC is starting up. This causes the MSTSC session to fail.


I think this is to do with Win7's version of MSTSC being either a wrapper for the 'real' rdp client or the UAC (which is turned off) is still getting in the way somehow?


Is there a work-around for this? Or even better, a fix?


I can bring up the VPN manually, then use RDM to start the MSTSC session. If I try to use RDM to start and close the MSTSC session then I end up with the VPN closing before the session itself starts.


Help?
