openVPN in multi user environment

openVPN in multi user environment

avatar

Hi,

I'm sure this is already be discussed in this forum but I didn't found it.

I have a multi user/administrator environment using RDM.
For one customer I have one openVPN.cer file for each administrator.
Each Client establishes his own VPN tunnel to our customers gateway.

How can I save an administrator specific file information for the openVPN logon?
A perfect way would be when the filename could be stored within the profile.

Any ideas?

OpenVPN is implemented in an Add-on, therefore it can not benefit from User Specific Settings at this time.

Each admin would have to create their own VPN Entry. If you are on an advanced data source it would be best to create that entry in their Private Vault.

The other problem is also that the user specific settings does not allow to save a file like a cer.

I'm not firm with VPN Entries.
If each admin create his own VPN Entry, is it possible to use this entry in a "shared" remote client entry (using dameware)?

What is a advanced data source? (We are on a SQL 2008 R2 Server)
Private Vault? A first look did not bring that up to me (and I use Version 9.2.4.0 ;-)

Is there a possibility with scripting to change the remote client entry?

The beginners - using RDM for years - always have so basic questions ;-)
Thank you both for helping me.

Hi

No, they will have to open the VPN manually before they launch the public entry.

Advanced data sources http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasources_advanced.htm, MSSQL is one of them.

Private vault : http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/view_navigation_privatevault.htm

We have powershell cmdlets http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/powershell_cmdlets.htm and also a forum dedicated to this topic http://forum.devolutions.net/forum42-remote-desktop-manager--powershell-repository.aspx
