Anyone having this work on vSphere 5.5?
Does Devolution test this feature in new versions?
Just looking for someone to confirm, otherwise i am not going to waste more time solving it :)
Hi
We have vSphere 5.5 installed in our own environment, what error do you get?
Maurice
"VMware Player is not installed properly on this system and cannot function. Please reinstall VMware Player."
I never had to install Player to open a vm console. Console from vSphere client works fine.
Just to be precise I am talking about a client vm console, not ESXi host or vCenter console.
can you PM me a screen shot of you entry?
thanks
Maurice
Did you receive my pm?
Yes, We have the same issue with another customer, I guess I had my cases mixed up. Truly sorry about that.
In fact, in v9.5, we replaced using the player with the powershell snapin of the Power CLI. This works especially well on my workstation, whereas the VMWare player gives me the same error as you. We aren't able to make it work anymore.
Ultimately, we end up calling a command line as
Target: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\VMware VMRC Plug-in\Internet Explorer\vmware-vmrc.exe" -h 10.112.96.8 -u "root" -p "vmware123" "[datastore1 (2)] VCSA51-2/VCSA51-2.vmx"
Start in: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\VMware VMRC Plug-in\Internet Explorer”
On my machine, with the 5.5 plugin, the path is "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VMware\VMware Remote Console Plug-in 5.5\Internet Explorer\vmware-vmrc.exe"
The command line does not work for me, nor our other customer, the issue is not with RDM but with the VMWare config.
v9.5 will come out soon, in fact you could try beta 9.4.1 right now and let us know.
Maurice
No problem.
I will try the beta. Sure looking forward to make this work again.
Thanks.
How do i download the beta?
It is not on the download page, and not shown in my check version either.
How?
