Use LasrtPass credentials to Putty / SSH

First create the credential entry that points to your LastPass entry

Then create a TELNET/PUTTY/SSH session, and for the Credentials value choose "credential repository", then you will be able to select your credential entry in the drop down to the right.

Thats the simplest scenario. You could use Dynamic Credential linking (http://blog.devolutions.net/2013/10/new-in-remote-desktop-manager-9-dynamic.html) as well, but first I recommend the simplest route.

thanks. That's pretty much what I did (and yes I have RTFD). Putty come up but I still get prompted for username / pass...

ok, you are using the "Note" type of Lastpass, it seems our library is not able to resolve their content.

We use "site" entries to store credentials.

We need to address this by either supporting the "note" type, or by at least hiding the notes from our selection window. Since we depend on a third party library to access the LastPass information, I can't say if it will be possible in the near future.

I keep most (hundreds) of credentials as notes (which can themselves be of various types, we use, quite naturally, the "server" type.

Am I the first person to report this ? Sites are, IMHO, more suitable for web sites. I might convert all the notes but it is a definite PITA...

I've emailed the developer of the library, I'll post back as soon as our options are laid out.

You definitely are the first, I hope we can support it.

Don't worry, if it's possible we will support it. We clearly understand that's useful to support the note.

I am still very surprised that this was not requested by other users but in any case looking forward to it.

As we are at it I would also suggest a "dynamic credential creation" feature. let me explain:

At the moment (at least this is my understanding how things work) I have to first create a LastPass credential for a given site, then create a RDM entry for said site and finally use the credential to populate the entry.

I would be nice that, assuming RDM has my main Lastpass credentials, I could, when creating a new RDM entry, say "oh, let me show you which credentials in LP we should use for this site", ie now need to preventatively do it. Hope it makes sense !
