Terminal server licensing question

Terminal server licensing question

avatar

Hi!

I just read the Licensing FAQs. There it says:

How does this translate if I use a Terminal Server where RDM is installed and multiple users can log on to that machine and use the program?

We have the 10 Users license.

Thanks!

You need one license per physical user and it's not related to where your connect or to the connection source.

Very good! Thanks!

Can I somehow install a license key globally on the Terminal Server?
Or can I register the license automatically using a script or Group Policy for each user?

Yes you can, just copy a pre-configured remotedestkpmanager.cfg file in the application folder. If a configuration does not exists for a user, it's automatically copied from the application folder.

I could not find a remotedestkpmanager.cfg file, only a remotedesktopmanager.cfg :)

I see it contains all the data sources as well! Very nice! I have to say it again: This is an awesome piece of software :)

Thank you!
