Input devices become unresponisve after connection

Input devices become unresponisve after connection

avatar

I have just installed RDM (standard), and setup 3 connections.. I have launched all 3 sessions, and can login ok.. but the mouse/keyboard become unresponsive of 2 of them and I can actually do anything.. the other one seems fine. Is this a limitation to the free version, whereby you can only have one active session at a time?

Thanks

EDIT:

Actually, it appears that its just the left mouse button that doesnt work!... right one works find, and kb works ok to.. jus tthe left mouse buttone wont work in a session, which makes things very difficult as I cant select anything!!

Hi,
This is not a limitation, can you give me more details on your system. What version of RDP do you have installed? Do you have this problem in embedded or in external mode?

I am using the latest standard version 6.1.3.0. Im using the embeded mode, the session connects and the left mouse button seems to work fine on the login screen, I can use it to select the fields and also select the ok button... When the desktop loads, the left mouse button becomes useless.. right button works fine!

Ill test out on external mode, and let you know...

Works fine using external sessions, so problem is only with the embedded rdp sessions.. strange, but really annoying!

Can you verify that you have the latest version of the RDP client? It's 7.0 in Windows 7.

Hi,
I have just remembered something related to a Video card driver and large font, is it possible that you use a large font configuration?

Lol, actually I do.. Ive got poor eyesight so tend to have larger font sizes... Ill reset to default just to see (or rather not!)....

:) That sorted it, dropped to 125% fonts and lowered the screen res a little to compensate, and all working well!!!

Would never had of guessed that.. how strange!!!

Thanks for your advice!

You can try the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager, we share the same ActiveX. Maybe there is something different in there implementation?

Been a few years.. but just thought id try the app again, and get the same issue!! When on 150% fonts, the start button on an embedded session does not work.. unless I either close the navigation window, or strangely, if I move the app window so the embedded rdp start button is above my normal start button, it then works! Its as if the Start button has to be on the very left edge of the screen!

Unfortunately, I need to use 150% fonts, so either have to close the navigation window or use in non embedded mode, so I do lose the ability to quickly move through multiple open tabs etc..

Not the end of the world, but just a little frustrating!

Hello,

Could you try to disable the scaling in RDM

1- Right-click on the RDM shortcut on your desktop
2- Select Properties
3- Go to the "Compatibility" tab
4- Check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"

Best regards,
