Startup data source

avatar

I have eight configured data sources, with one selected as the default. However, when I start RDM, it selects one of the other sources. In fact, it even selects this source when I OK (but not Cancel) out of the Data Sources config window. The data source that it selects is a locked data source from my home office, but is not listed first, nor can I find any other reason that it might be choosing that one.

Hi,
Can you send me some print screen.

Sure. Of what, exactly?

Just a print screen of your data source dialog, where I can your complete list.

Data sources screenshot sent via PM

This was taken immediately after I opened the window without doing anything other than resizing the window. Note that "<redacted>" is the source selected, despite the fact that it was not the one active when I opened the window or the one set as the default. It is the one that gets brought up on startup.

Ok,
I might know what could be the problem, can you verify if you open the application from a shortcut with some parameters? It's possible to override the default data source by adding a parameter.

No parameters in the shortcut; sorry.

It just occurred to me that I have 4 data sources all pointed at the same SQL Server. The one that gets selected is the one with the database name that would sort to be first. Is it possible that this could be part of the problem?

May I ask you something, can you send by email your remotedesktopmanager.cfg file? it's located in %appdata%\devolutions\remotedesktopmanager

Excellent, I don't know the bug but I can reproduce it. So this should not be long before I figure it out the problem.

The 6.1.6.0b version you had me download for the copy-to-clipboard problem seems to resolve this problem. (Or, maybe, something else totally unrelated happened that merely coincided with me trying that version.)

I just tried the regular 6.1.6.0, which I'd been using for a while, and 6.1.3.0, which I had been using for a good while before that, both of which had this problem, but I can no longer reproduce it.

Maybe something in 6.1.6.0b fixed a problem in my config file?

Maybe it was related to your other problem with the data source?
