Prompted for credentials when using RD Gateway

Prompted for credentials when using RD Gateway

avatar

Hi

I have set up some server to connect via a Remote Desktop Gateway.
If I open the session in embedded mode it works fine but if I open it externally it prompts for credentials.
If I save the credentials then the next time I open the session it works fine.

I have tried using the "use my RD Gateway credentials for remote computers", Storing the password in the Database and use credential sessions options.

Is there anyway to get Remote Desktop manager to supply the logon credentials?

Hi,
Can you verify in the Windows Credential Vault the pattern for the saved Gateway? Type in the star menu Credential, you will find the Microsoft Vault

Hi David

It puts under Windows Credentials with:
Internet or Network address: server.domain.name
Username: domain\username
Password: password
Persistence: Local Machine

Hi David

I have noticed that RDM added the same Credentials into the Generic Credentials but these do not seem to have any effect, if I remove the login details from RDM and delete the entry from Generic Credentials leaving the Windows Credentials when I try to connect again it works fine and does not add anything into the Generic Credentials.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi,
Can you try to edit the remotedesktopmanager.cfg file:

Set UseRDPGatewayGenericCredential to false

Hi David

I have found the problem, the "Use RDP Gateway generic credential" option under the Advanced tab was enabled, I have unticked this and it is working fine now.

Thanks for all your help.
