Hi,
I would like to know if RDPM can make our life easier once again...
We are in the middle of rolling out a standard network solution for our offices around the world. Several teams are busy with installing the new systems, when they come back to the office they add the new networks to our RDPM Database.
The problem ist that (despite the fact the the hardware is always identical) the entries differ from one another, just too many ppl involved.
To avoid these slight differences i created a template office with all the necessary entries so our teams can just duplicate those entries. This works, but it takes some time because they have to manually duplicate and edit 20 entries. The only difference ist the name (we use a convention of 3 letters for the names, like BRU for brussels, MEX for mexiko and so on. A Server is named BRU-FS-001, switch is BRU-SW-001) and the third part of the network address ( 10.20.XX.5 for example).
Would it be possible to script this?
RDPM asks for the name: I enter BAN for bangalore
RDPM asks for the network : I enter 26
and RDPM duplicates all the entries and enters the Information.
I can submit more detailed information about the entries and the templates if needed.
Thank you
Hi,
Does your 20 connections are sub connections?
David Hervieux
They are neither sub-connections nor do they have sub-cons( if this is what you mean).
I have to admit I havent worked much with that feature, can i solve my feature request with this?
Hi,
This could help because you can use a parent variable in the children. For example
$PARENT_HOST$
