Not a happy camper this morning. I downloaded the new version, fired up the .exe and it overwrote my connections database. Yes, I did have a backup, or what I thought was a backup but it was just the original file with no data in it. Lost a ton of work. What's the upgrade process? I can't find anything on the site. I've now renamed the mdb file so that shouldn't happen again.
Hi,
are you sure that it's has overwrited your connections.mdb file? We don't do that in the upgrade? Maybe it just the path which is not correctly set? Can you do a search on drive to see if you can find it?

I am sure that some of my actions may have contributed to the issue, But still for some reason don't understand the entire event.
I performed the upgrade and selected the Complete Install. In back of my mind I thought that I would be asked to confirm the installation path. If this was the case, I would have selected a different location and copied files over. But it seemed like the app knew where the last install was and proceded to do so.
When the app started, I did see my entire connections database, but went to verify it's location. It was wrong, as I have it setup to be portable (in the same directory) So I manually edited the path. This is where the issue started in my opinion. When I entered the new location, I entered a single dot "." as for "this directory" I was doing some work in php that morning and used the single dot several times that morning. So by habbit, this is what I entered. I fired up the app and it gave me an error message that the path was incorect. I noticed it and immediately went to chage it. I change it to the filename "Connections.mdb" and restarted the app. This is where I noticed that the entire database was empty.
Trust me, I spent a lot of time checking my disk to see if I could recuperate the file, and the 3 files on my drive were identical. Empty.
I know that your job is not to design around snafus like that, I was just upset that I lost so much work. It will take me at least the week if not more to recreate, but this time I've renamed the .mdb file so at least there's less of a chance to be overwritten.
While I'm at it. may I make a suggestion?
Although I like the new highlight bar (light blue) I find that there is not enough contrast to see my connection name. Is there a possibility to have this feature user define and provide us a choice with a dark gray or dark blue option? Thanks
Hi,
I'm sorry for the lost, just to be sure have you checked in%LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager just to be sure.
I will try add an option for the highlight color.
