Remote Desktop Manager fails to connect to my VNC host when I use the Embedded option. If I click 'Open (External)', the UltraVNC client program opens and I am able to connect fine.
If I use the embedded option, the "VNC Viewer Status" popup dialog (I think it's from the UltraVNC program) shows and it displays the status of "Failed to connect to server!". RDM then has it it's own dialog, that says the same. Dismiss that dialog, and then RDM shows a new dialog that says "Connection Refused".
The RDM log file gets the following messages added when I attempt the embedded connection:
For this host, I have RDM set to use the UltraVNC application from the General settings tab. This host does have a VNC password that is correctly entered on the RDM Settings tab.
Thanks,

What VNC server do you use?
David Hervieux
I am connecting to a Raspberry Pi, running TightVNC server 1.3.9.
I suspect that our embedded UltraVNC is too old. We will need to update it. However it's not a simple task.

Hi,
We now have an up to date version of the UltraVNC client

What version should I expect to see this fix in? I just tested with the latest, 10.1.9.0 and it still has the same error.
This one should work. It's strange. Could you verify the application logs to see if it's exactly the same error?
David Hervieux
It appears to be a different problem. I had to restart the tightvncserver on my Pi and I was then able to connect using the stand along UltraVNC viewer program. But using the same connection info in RDM still fails to connect.
Could you try the default embedded client?
