Cannot validate dropbox datasource

I am using version 9.1.4.0 of RDM (32-bit) on my Windows 8.1 machine and do not use 2-factor auth. I only have one local datasource and am trying to add a Dropbox datasource.
When adding the datasource and clicking Validate nothing happens. Mouse pointer shows loading for a couple of seconds.
After trying that I cannot close the add datasource window. The cancel-button doesn't respond and neither does the close X in the right upper corner.
When clicking OK it still says 'Dropbox is not yet validated'.
I must use the task manager to manually kill the RDM process.
I tried changing the path to the XML in Dropbox to a shorter path but that didn't help. also tried the x64 version of RDM, no change.

I read in the changelog that a possible issue with Dropbox validation was fixed but maybe there still is a issue?

What can I try to fix this? Or can I help in gathering information so you can troubleshoot this?

I am also having the same problem, following update this morning. Dropbox is not available.

They must have changed something in their API. Just for a test, could you try the previous version? I don't think it will help but just to verify.

Hi David,

I was using the previous version this morning when I had the problem. I then upgraded because I read that you might had fixed a validation issue. So I think the previous version will not help.

To be sure I will try an older version.

Hi David,

i just uninstalled version 9.1.4.0 and installed version 9.0.12.0.
Unfortunately the issue is also in this version.

Can I help by enabling debug logging or something?

So the problem might be related to the latest updates applied to Win 8.1, or at least a restart of the system.

My main image was running 9.1.4. I ran the windows update, then upgraded RDM. Had the dropbox issue above. I then reverted to 9.1.4 and still have the same problem.

I was also running 9.1.4. on a backup image, tested and it was working fine. I ran the windows updates without updating RDM, restarted and now I have the same problem on that machine

Forget the last post, the machine where I ran windows update but didn't upgrade RDM is now working - just took a long time to load for some reason.

André is still working on the problem. It's not simple but he is confident to have a fix soon.

It works for me! Have successfully installed latest version and added Dropbox datasource.

We did a lot of fix for DropBox in the latest version and it now supports the two factor authentication.
