Hi,
First question:
I think there might be something wrong with local favorite option. We are using the RDM (version 6.0.1.0) in a terminal server environment. If I select a machine as a local favorite and close the program, the machine will disappear from the favorites tab.
Is this right?
Number two:
Is there any way that you can save the layout of your window, I have found the maximize window at start option but I have to unselect both the footer pane and session pane every time I start RDM.
Otherwise thanx for a great product!

Hi,
For the save layout, I don't understand, it works fine for me. Maybe you Terminal environment flush the saved options? Can you try on a local machine? This might also explain your problem with the local favorites. Let me know.

Thank you for your response,
In the folder where RDM is run from I only have read and execute rights, is this were RDM saves these settings or is it somewhere in my user profile?

When it's running on a Terminal machine, it's saved in the roaming profile.

I do find a couple of RDM folders in the roaming section of my profile but they are all empty. Is there supposed to be a RemoteDesktopManager.cfg file here as well?
The only .cfg file I can find is in the installation directory.

We found it; the problem is that we are using one cfg file and an override file in the installation directory for the simplicity of not having to configure the connection for the db for every user. This is why we are not being able to save our settings, because of the read only rights on the file.
Is there any way to split the config file in two and have one master cfg file for centrally configured settings (like database connection) and one with the user’s personal settings, favorite connections, layout?
Hi,
This is not possible for now, but this something that we want to do. If you don't change too often, you can remove the override and leave the file in the installation folder. When RDM can't find the config. it try to copy the one from the installation directory. This mean that each new user will still get the default configuration.
