Mapping specific drive(s)?

avatar

Probably I am doing something wrong here, hope you can help.

I have tried to map a specific drive without luck.

If I map all drives there are mounted, including the specific one I tried above.

Mapping directly from remote desktop connection work.

Hi,
I remember an old bug with a previous version of Remote Desktop Client. They changed the way we have to specify the specific drive. What version of the mstsc.exe do you use? Can you try in embedded mode also?

Version 6.0.6001.18000

Embedded mode is when starting remote desktop in a tab? No difference.

Yes it is, the embedded mode is starting in tab. Can you try to export the file to an .RDP and open it in mstsc? Also, can you verify if you can install the latest RDP 7.0?

I tried rdp 7.0 and it seems to work.

Thanks for your help.

Opening the .rdp (i v6) didn't work either.

Thank you very much for the information.

I have the same problem. When exporting the rdp file from RemoteDesktopManager, the line looks like this:
drivestoredirect:s:Local Disk (C:)
Opening the rdp that I have set up inside mstsc (Windows 7, English) gives the following line (basically the same):
drivestoredirect:s:Local Disk (C:);
For me, mapping the drive works fine. But when my colleague connects the session, his disk is not getting mapped. So I created a rdp using mstsc on his machine (WinXP, Swedish) and got the following line:
drivestoredirect:s:C:;
So something seems to have been changed between WinXP and Win7.
The problem is that if I paste the XP line into my Windows 7 rdp file, the c-disk is not being mapped...

Hi,
You are right, the format has changed in RDP 7.0, do you think that you can install it on the XP machine?

Good Morning David, In the version free can I to map my hard disk drives for all machines in one step or I need to do it one by one? Thanks.

Unfortunately it's one by one since the batch edit is not supported.
