Starting Windows Explorer after Connecting w/ RDP

avatar

I was wondering if anyone had tried this. What I would like is to open up Windows Explorer automatically to a specific directory after connecting (ex.: F:\Tools)
I have tried several commands from the "Programs" tab, but none were succesful.
Thanks Bernard

After connecting to an RDP session?

Yes, I am wondering if it's possible, after "RDPing" to a server, if Windows Explorer could open up directly to a specified directory automatically.

I have found this topic that explain the programs tab. It's not used for what you want:

The only way I see, is by creating a shortcut in the startup folder of the remote machine.

I have tried this as well but have been unable to get it working.

In my case I try and run an management console but the idea is the same. If you have it run on connect it will tell you it needs explorer.exe to be running and I have yet to find a way to delay this.

As for Bernie's question I believe there is an registry key that does this. Just google it.

Thanks to all, I agree, it's not really working. It's not necessary for what I have to do, it would have been a nice feature though.

If I can find a solution, I will gladly do it, maybe the with the RDP plugin. I never implemented something like that, but I know that it's possible to create something.
