It seems that in the standard edition the save password does not maintain the setting. I have to always add the password to when the session is starting. I do not have the ask for creditials checked. The edit and clear password options are available. What could I not be setting properly.
Hi,
What is the destination host ? Windows 2000 does not allow to save the credentials and Windows 2003 may a policy set for that. Can you try in both embedded or external mode ?
Let me know

I did not have Remote Desktop 6.1 so I could not do enbedded. I loaded it and both enbedded and External seem to work now. Thanks:)
Excellent! Maybe I should add a warning if the version 6.1 is not installed.

the one bug i found (i use external) is the system will save the same username and password for 2 host files if the hosts i have have the same url even if they have a different port#
example:
a.b.com:33380
a.b.com:33381
I have multiple servers / workstations that I connect to in an office but need to use different usernames and passwords and would love for each to saved by itself
These values are saved in the Windows Credential Manager (that the way mstsc.exe works), I will do some test to see if I can include the port.
I will let you know as soon as it's possible.

Hi,
I did some test and there is no way to include these value. If you try with mstsc.exe, you won't be able to get both with the external application. If you have an Enterprise Edition, you can use the embedded mode with the password stored in the database, this mode will work.
Sorry about that
