Cisco AnyConnect VPN

avatar

I have installed the Cisco AnyConnect VPN but I have found that once I disconnect from the session it does not release the vpn. The only way to get off the AnyConnect is to go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections and disable the device. This does work but is not the best way to get off the VPN but with a secure VPN that disables your local settings it seems to be the only way back to my local network/WAN settings. Does anyone know if there is a fix available for this?

Hi,
Do you know if it's possible to call Anyconnect in command line and close it? Have you try to use the button in session configuration in the VPN tab page?

I tried to use the button under the session to disconnect and I can see where it brings up a command prompt but it flash's by so quick that I can not tell exactly what it is doing.

Hi,
It call the command line of the VPN client (vpncli.exe) with the "Disconnect" switch. Can you try it in command line and see if you get a message?

Hi,
I'm having the same issue with this. I'm using RDM6 on Windows 7. When logging off the remote session I can see a cmd box pop up and the script flash by, however the session does not disconnect. The same happens when using the 'disconnect VPN' button within the session editor. I am able to successfully manually disconnect using the vpncli.exe from the command line. It looks like the issue is with the command being passed from RDM to the vpncli.exe. Unfortunately cmd line is up and down to quickly to get a note of the error that is occuring.

Can certainly try to try.

I would be willing to try also since I am a Tech for a software development company this has been a very useful tool for connect to each of the clients I deal with on a daily basis. And sorry it took so long to answer as I have been busy this morning.

Hi,
I think that I might have found the problem, can you try this version. Make sure that it's 1.8.0.2 in the about box. You can install it in %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager

OpenVPNAddOn[1][2][3].zip

Hi David,

think you might have attached the wrong .zip. This one contains OpenVPNAddOn.dll verison 1.2.0.1 rather than VPNAddOn.dll version 1.8.0.2 as I think you meant.

Tried it out of interest though, and it did not appear to make a difference. Sorry.

Works a treat.

Can see the session being disconnected in the cmd window also, which is a nice confirmatory bonus.

Many thanks.
