Hello,
when entering GatewayCredentials in RDP/Advanced section, they are only taken when session is started as embedded.
When session is started as "external" they are ignored and must be entered in a popup window.

Can you do a test for me ? If you open mstsc with your exported session. In the Gateway section, do you see that you credential is correcty set after you tried to connect with RDM ?

Hi again,
habe exported session to RDP-file. started mstsc and opened the exported file - can't see the password ;) , but gateway-servername and username (incl. domainname) are looking good.

Does it connect?
David Hervieux
Sorry, no - only a popup for entering userdata.
....but after testing a little bit more, i've another interesting detail: the workstation i'm working on is running on Vista and here i can see the credetinals. Here i've also the possibility to change userdata, but when doing so, userdata are note overtaken - i get an EMPTY popup
The Gatewayserver is running on "Windows Server 2008" and it seems that there are no credentials set after exporting to RDP-File.....and i've no possibility to enter/change userdata - "connection settings" (Servername) is looking good.

Hello David,
i think i've found the reason for this behavior. If my infos are correct, then since RDP client 6.0 it's no longer possible to store the Gateway credentials in the RDP-file. Now they are located in the "windows credential manager".
After adding the credentials there authentication on the GatwayServer works fine and i'm redirected to targetsystem without a further prompt....but this also means, if i've understood the mechanism correclty, that "passwords in database" and "credential sessions" would not work thogehter with gateway....
best regards

Hi,
RDM is using the Credential Store to use it. It's what the application does just before the connection. What type of credential have you entered? Generic or domain ?
