Hi, can I request a credential manager be added to the supported list please - Secret Server from Thycotic (http://www.thycotic.com/) - its a web based password system that has a web service API, so it's perfect for integration with RDM :)
Thanks, TJ
Hi,
I will gladly try to integrate it if it's possible? Do you know someone from the company ? Maybe we could work with them to make an add-on.
David Hervieux
No, I don't know anyone there, but they do publish info about their API etc. and have a public fourm...
Here's a link to some basic info and other links - http://www.thycotic.com/products_secretserver_api.html
Here's a link to the API info in their KB - http://support.thycotic.com/KB/search.aspx?categoryid=2&search=api&type=0
Here's a link to a sample web service - https://secretserveronline.com/webservices/sswebservice.asmx
You'll note the last link is to their webservice on their free online version of Secret Server (https://secretserveronline.com), so you'll be able to create an account and test it against this web service without the need to buy or plead for anything :)
Thanks, TJ.
This is excellent, thank you for all the information

I don't use Secret Server myself but I have 3 or 4 friends at least who use and heartily recommend it, so there are other users out there!

I noticed there have been a few releases since my initial request, I was wondering if the secret server credential type was on the road map or not and if so, when (roughly) you were hoping to have it completed?
Thanks, TJ
Hi,
Our last release was a small one with more stuff related to Remote Desktop Manager Online. The Secret Server is still on our roadmap.

Any word on what Secret Server support may be added? Thanks, TJ.
André my colleague is working on that this week. I hope he will be able to integrate it soon :)
David Hervieux
Hi everyone!
This is Jonathan Cogley from Thycotic Software (we make Secret Server). We would be very happy to support you in any way needed for the integration.
We have worked on integrations with many other companies in the past - RSA, ArcSight,Qualys, etc. We can set up a conference call or answer questions via email - whatever works.
Just call and ask for me or send an email in to support (@) thycotic (.) com
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you very much. We already have a working integration but it's not released yet. I'm glad to hear from you and your company. Would you be interested in viewing what we have done?
David Hervieux
Glad you guys have gotten together - looking forward to seeing SS integration :)
TJ.
Yes - that would be great.
Just tried to get 6.6 working with SS 7.7 - it bombed out with an exception (which I sent in) - just wanted to check if there was a min. version of SS required in order to support this feature...
Thanks, TJ
Hi,
André has done a fix, I will sent it to you.
David Hervieux
Thanks, I got 6.7 and the "secrets" now list as expected, but after creating a credential (clicking the Test Settings button confirms success) and associating it with a session (Connection Tab > Credentials: Credential Repository) the username seems to be passed into the RDP session, but not the password... Any ideas?
TJ
Does it contains any special char that could be replaced in the process?
David Hervieux
Sure, I can tell you this pwd contains both ! and @ if that helps...
I did a little testing and it does seem like special characters is causing the problem. Testing with a different user without ! or @ worked fine on a Windows 2003 box.
However, it didn't work on a Windows 2008 R2 box. It complains the username/password is incorrect, but I think the problem is the domain name isn't being used as the failed login screen seemed to be trying to login using the correct name, but on the local machine rather than the domain...
