RDM steals focus

avatar

Hi RDM'ers,
We experience the issue that RDM is constantly stealing the focus. I have found another topic about this, but it was too old to bump.
I believe it only occurs with RDP sessions. For example, when i'm typing a new email message, which window is over RDM, just out of nowhere RDM pops up in front of the window. Or when using dual monitor, when typing on screen 1, the focus just goes to RDM which is open on monitor 2.
I believe it occurs when something changes inside the open RDP sessions. One time i saw RDM popup when the RDP session changes to lock screen (Session was idle).
We use RDM 11.0.9.0 with SQL2008R2 data source. RDP sessions are all embedded.
Any fix for this? It's really annoying.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Could you try to disable to the auto focus in File->Options

Auto select item on tab focus
Auto focus tab on item select

Hi,

Thanks for the reply:)

I disabled the auto select and auto focus tab options and tested for a week with my colleague.
Unfortunatly it did not resolve the issue.
We also noticed that when RDM is minimized it will not popup in front of other screens. When other screens are selected which are in front of RDM (like if i switch to IE11 which is on the same screen), RDM will popup again when something changes in the RDP session.

It's kind of annoying ;)
Can you reproduce this on your end?

What do you mean by something changed in the RDP session? Do you open your RDP connection embedded or undocked?

Thank you for the information. I think that I've found one setting that could help you

Uncheck "Focus content on application activation" in File->Options

Thanks for the reply. I have disabled the setting by two of my colleagues. We will test for a week.
I let you know the outcome!
