Netsupport gateway support

Hi there,

I'm testing netsupport gateway, which makes remote desktop support without VPN possible to my clients. I'm trying to find a way in RDM to use netsupport gateway but no luck so far. It seems it only supports the normal way connecting by tcp/ip. Is there any way to control devices using the gateway mode?

Thanks!

Hello,
How do you configure this in mstsc?

I don't use mstsc, it is pure netsupport. Netsupport client is installed on the machines, and these machines are set up with HTTP pointing to a local netsupport gateway. This netsupport gateway is open on DMZ for incoming connections from outside using netsupport manager. Netsupport manager then connects to this proxy and the proxy makes a list of all clients that are connected to it available.

In this way, no mstsc or vpn involved.

I can connect directly from my workstation to the client machines via the gateway.

Of course, I need to manage my employees to restrict access to only what they need to access, so RDM should help in this aspect.

I don't know what we can do with RDM. Do you have an idea what we could change in RDM to help you?

We would need at least to restrict or allow access to the gateway from netsupport manager on

Netsupport manager needs the gateway added with a public IP address a password. I would like to control who can access the gateway through RDM in the same way you can do for individual netsupport clients. If the person has permission, gateway is available to connect, if not, gateway is not available.

To have more granular permissions, we can have multiple password sets for the gateway which each having different clients assigned. In this way we can set up RDM with access to just specific sets of computer by using a specific gateway password.

Thanks!
